Hosted in partnership with Let’s Talk Shop, a filmmaking workshop series created by Jabari Jefferson.
rooted and wandering
A cinematic podcast about coming home to yourself and finding home wherever you go.
January Tenth is a cinematic visual podcast hosted by two birthday twins, Esther Boykin, LMFT, and Sara Woodruff, Ph.D., filmed entirely on location at boutique properties around the world. Each season unfolds across one space, with conversation moving from cooking in the kitchen to lunch in the backyard to whisky by the fire, the way a long weekend with a close friend does.
Think travel show meets therapy session meets your favorite group chat on vacation. Funny, radically honest, and wildly irreverent, J10 is a beautifully shot glimpse into the minds of two fascinating Black women who also happen to be a data nerd and a celebrity therapist.
The kind of friendship where you don't have to explain yourself. Where nobody pulls out the therapist voice or hides behind the self that the rest of the world knows. Where you get to have, as one of us put it, an experience of yourself.
The Show
Season One: Marcellus Farm
We spent the season at Marcellus Farms (Manor en Noire), the Black-owned working farm in Maryland stewarded by Kathy Mason. Three long conversations about the tender, funny, sometimes heartbreaking work of coming home: to a place, to each other, to ourselves.
Homecomings → what "home" meant then, what it means now, and why the right person across the table can feel more like homecoming than any geographic location.
Soft Openings, Hard Closings → beginnings, endings, and the seasons we outgrow. The grief nobody warns you about, and the freedom on the other side.
Reimagining Respite → rest as nourishment, not reward. Who gets to rest, and what real rest actually looks like.
welcome to
Homebody Behavior
Homebody Behavior is a lifestyle brand for the selectively social. The people who'd rather spend the night in deep conversation over amazing food with a carefully curated group than show up to the party of 100 that everyone has to be at.
J10 is our flagship podcast, the place to immerse yourself in all that Homebody Behavior values. But we are much more than just a podcast producer; we are an ecosystem of content, experiences, resources for those who travel for restoration, not for the photo op; the ones who know that comfort is more than sweatpants, and that belonging is the real luxury.
Stay tuned for city travel guides, social events, property, and product features, all with the goal of helping you feel at home everywhere you go.
