Two Capricorns.
One birthday.
Infinite depth and delight.
We're Esther and Sara, two highly introspective (and lowkey hilarious) women reimagining what it means to rest, roam, and reconnect.
We're birthday twins and friends who decided to co-create a place where the joy of feeling known and appreciated, for exactly who and where you are, is the whole point.
Comfort is a lifestyle.
For us, being a homebody isn't antisocial; it’s simply a desire to be selectively social.
We are people who understand the value of ease and finding home wherever we go.
We seek out the spaces, people, and experiences that evoke the comfort and joy of being home, on the road as much as in our own kitchens.
Discerning, taste-driven, but never elitist.
We leave the house for the right reasons. And when we do, we bring the feeling of home with us.
Because home is never just one place. It's a feeling of recognition. A return. A softening into yourself. That’s what Homebody Behavior is all about… the practice of returning to yourself again and again, and finding the people and places that help you remember who you are.
Esther Boykin, LMFT
[right] The celebrity therapist of the pair. Twenty-plus years as a licensed marriage and family therapist, plus a TEDx stage, a consulting practice, and a string of retreats redefining wellness for Black women through the Compassion Collective. She notices everything: the fabric of the blanket, the art on the wall, the color on the wall, and the mood in the air. Curating spaces that care for people is her calling and the process that always brings her back home to herself.
Sara Woodruff, Ph.D.
[left] The resident data nerd, she knows what she’s talking about. An educational psychologist and travel advisor, and the founder of Bliss Bespoke, where she designs custom escapes for Black travelers and beyond. She finds home in nature, in silence, and especially on safari. She'll find you the place that feels like home before you've even landed.
A forever homecoming...
Homebody Behavior, and our January 10 podcast, are designed to remind you of how good it feels to be known;
the pleasure of not always having to explain;
and delight that can be found when we commit to the journey of coming home to ourselves in the company of people who get it.
Homebody Behavior is not about solitude but finding yourself at ease in the belonging of real community.
What we are building
Beyond the J10 Podcast, we are actively developing brand partnerships focused on helping the selectively social find the spaces (and products) that support their social battery. We are excited to partner with new properties at home and abroad that value creating experiences that make visitors feel like family.
In our modern lives, it is so easy to find ourselves searching for comfort in all the wrong places. At Homebody Behavior, we are your guide to finding your comfort zone, whether you're traveling the world, exploring your local neighborhood, or scrolling online.
If you are a brand, property, or person interested in partnering with us, fill out the form below to get in touch.
